In Short
what this policy says, in four tiles
My Swift Budget has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and its developer receives none of your data. Your budget lives on the Actual Budget server you run. A few optional features send limited information to services you choose — this policy lists every one of them, what is sent, and how to turn it off.

Overview
My Swift Budget (“the App”) is an iOS app developed by Yahot KOUASSI. It shows and helps you tidy the budget held by your own, self-hosted Actual Budget server, through the open-source Actual HTTP API. The developer operates no server for the App and has no access to anything you do in it.
Where your data goes
By default, only to your Actual server and, for the market quotes on the Home screen, to Yahoo Finance (instrument symbols only). AI features are off until you turn them on; when on, they either run entirely on the iPhone (Apple Intelligence) or go through your own Claude subscription.
What the App Does Not Do
No account with the developer, no sign-up
No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs (the App has no third-party code at all)
No data sold, shared with or sent to the developer
No location, contacts, photos library, microphone or camera access (a profile photo you pick stays on the device)
No notifications
Every Connection the App Makes
Three, and only the first is needed to use your own budget.
1. Your Actual Budget Server
the address you enter
● Always · your server
The App reads your accounts, categories, payees, balances and transactions from the server address you enter, and writes only what you change: a transaction's payee or category, payees and rules you create from To Review, and bank syncs you start. Every request carries the server's API key and, if your budget is encrypted, its encryption password. They go only to that address.
If the address starts with http:// rather than https://, these credentials and your data travel unencrypted on your network; the App says so in its settings. Use an https:// address to protect them.
2. Market Quotes
Yahoo Finance, optionally Twelve Data
● On by default
SentInstrument symbolsnever any budget data

WhenAt launch, every 15 minonly while the App is open
Turn OffSettings → Market Tickerthe ticker on the Home screen
The ticker on the Home screen (on by default) asks Yahoo Finance (query1.finance.yahoo.com) for the prices of the instruments you selected, when the App opens and every 15 minutes while it is open. Only the instrument symbols are sent — never any budget data. As with any web request, Yahoo sees your IP address. If you add your own Twelve Data key, the same symbols and that key are sent to Twelve Data (api.twelvedata.com) for instruments Yahoo could not provide. Turn the ticker off in Settings → Market Ticker.
3. AI Features

● Off by default

Everything runs on the iPhone; nothing is sent anywhere.
Claude Pro
If you choose it, requests go to a small relay you run on your own network (it stores nothing), which passes them to Anthropic under your own Claude subscription. Your subscription token is kept in the iPhone's Keychain and sent to your relay with each request. Anthropic handles what it receives under your agreement with Anthropic.
What is sent to Claude, by feature
Insights, questions and the monthly recap
Anonymised facts — kinds of events, ratios and percentages. Merchant and category names are replaced by placeholders or generic descriptions (“a supermarket”); amounts are not sent. Also sent: the questions you type, and the “Your context” text you write in the AI settings, as written.
AI review in To Review only when you tap the button
For each transaction to review, the bank label with every number masked (references, card and account numbers), whether money came in or went out and its rough size, the date, the account's name — plus your category names, your payee names and a few earlier transactions with similar labels as examples.
The App never shows an AI-written figure: every number on screen is computed on the device.
What Is Stored on the iPhone
KeychainCredentialsserver API key, encryption password, Claude token, Twelve Data key — in the iOS Keychain
Offline CopyA cached copy of your budgetso the App works offline, protected by iOS data protection
WidgetsA summary for the widgetsbalance, this month's spending, top categories — shared with the App's own widget extension only
LogA technical logkept on the device, shared only if you send it from Settings → Logs; no transaction contents
Settings → Reset & Sign Out removes all of this from the device. Nothing is deleted on your Actual server.
Backups You Export
Settings → Back up settings creates a file you share where you choose. It contains your App settings and, only if you tick the option, your credentials. Keep such a file private.
Demo Mode
Demo Mode uses sample data generated on the device. It sends nothing to any server.
Actual Budget Affiliation
My Swift Budget is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Actual Budget project or by Anthropic.
Children
The App is not directed at children and the developer collects no information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
When the App's data handling changes, this policy is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
Your Rights
The developer holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete on the developer's side — you control your data on your server and on your device. For data you send to Yahoo Finance, Twelve Data or Anthropic through the optional features, their own privacy policies and your rights with them apply (including under the GDPR and the CCPA).
